Curcumin is the active ingredient that is in Turmeric. The average Indian diet provides around 2,000-2,500 mg of turmeric (60-100 mg of Curcumin) per day. The same amount in extract form may pack up to 1,900-2,375 mg of curcumin. That’s a huge difference that’s why it’s most beneficial using the 95% Curcuminoid form of Turmeric.
One downside is Turmeric has a horrible bioavailability many reasons: The major factors that affect the absorption/bio-availability of turmeric are:
* Serum concentration
* Tissue distributions
* Rapid metabolism
* Short half-life
(Since Bioperine increases absorption, it should not be taken with seizure meds.)
Initially by day 3 there was a big reduction and even more by 1 week. If I started at a lower dose I may not have seen the results as I did. I’m not sure. Reflux did begin and lasted 2 weeks then disappeared possibly due to thei higher dosage.
Curcumin Extract dosages:
532 mgs = 1.4 ml
1,026 mgs = 2.7 ml
1,520 mgs = 4.0 ml
2,014 mgs = 5.3 ml
2,508 mgs = 7.9 ml
If an operation or a procedure is needed curcumin extract needs to be taken out two weeks prior we had to do this once and it was very very bad he should’ve been in the hospital during that time so I think talk to your doctor about options prior to this if needed
Kam was 9 months old when we began. As a rule o always give him half of whatever dosage is stated for adults. I began 740mgs 1x a day. Nothing happened. So I went to 740mgsx2 and it got rid of basically all Kam’s night seizures. I did this for a long time. And would increase by .5ml per dose of the dose no longer was as effective because he got bigger. Kam was still having seizures during the day because he would get tired and try to fall asleep and seizures would keep firing off. This is when I added a dose in the middle of day (every 8 hours) and it got rid of those seizures.
Currently Kam is 36lbs 10oz and he gets 2.5mlx3 (every 8 hours) 950mgsx3.
